Hispanic man from Arizona arrested for beheading his mother

Alejandro David Gonzalez, 25, has been arrested after allegedly murdering and decapitating his mother at their home in Glendale.

The victim was identified as Teresa De Jesús Cruz Rubio, 49.

The tragedy occurred last Friday night, according to authorities.

It was the victim’s sister who alerted the police after finding the decapitated body.

Bloody scene: Rubio was found decapitated in her home

Officers found Teresa Cruz Rubio under a blanket near the front door of her apartment.

Alongside the body, they found the victim’s head and multiple stab wounds in the abdomen, chest, and arms.

The apartment was covered in blood, and a bloody knife was found in the kitchen.

Family members reported that Rubio had been preparing a surprise family gathering for her birthday.

Her son, Alejandro David Gonzalez, had recently been released from jail and was living with her.

The victim did not respond when family members tried to contact her, leading them to seek help to open her apartment door.

A security video showed a vehicle, owned by the victim, driving away from the crime scene.

Gonzalez was arrested hours later at a gas station, with traces of dried blood on his legs and socks.

Alejandro David Gonzalez blames another man, but there is no evidence

During interrogation, Gonzalez claimed that a man forced him to attack his mother after consuming methamphetamines.

However, police have not found any evidence to support the involvement of another suspect in the crime.

Alejandro Gonzalez had a prior record for aggravated assault against an officer in 2021.

Recently, he had been arrested for criminal damage but was released due to a lack of evidence.

Hours after his release, Alejandro David Gonzalez allegedly committed the murder of his mother.
