According to El Financiero, Mexican actor Alejandro Landero, remembered for his appearances in telenovelas like Rosa Salvaje alongside Verónica Castro, was recently spotted living on the streets in the Condesa neighborhood of Mexico City.
In a viral video shared on social media, he is seen sitting on a park bench surrounded by several bags containing his belongings and accompanied by four cats and a dog.
The video was posted by Verónica Hernández, a local resident who urged the public to support the actor and his pets.
“Please, I ask kindly for help for our neighbor Alejandro. He’s living on the street with four cats and a dog — they’re all calm. He’s asking for temporary support, just for a month,” she wrote.

Hernández stated that Landero had been sleeping outdoors for at least three nights.
The video quickly went viral, prompting an outpouring of concern and solidarity toward the actor, who was once a familiar face in Mexican television during the 1980s and 1990s.
Many social media users recalled his performances in classic telenovelas and expressed hope that he would receive help soon.
The situation also reignited discussion about the financial and emotional struggles faced by actors once they leave the spotlight.

After the video circulated widely, Landero was contacted by the show De Primera Mano, where he explained that his presence in the park was due to a temporary housing issue.
He said he had been dealing with a personal matter and regretted that the video had been taken out of context.
The actor denied being permanently homeless but admitted to facing personal and mental health challenges.
Through a post on X (formerly Twitter), Landero revealed that he has autism and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) — conditions he decided to discuss publicly to promote awareness and inclusion.
Actor Calls for Empathy and Social Awareness

“I want to encourage inclusion — we need it desperately. There’s a lack of understanding and education. We all have the same rights,” the actor stated.
According to the Mayo Clinic, autism is a developmental condition that affects communication, learning, and social interaction.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) note that ADHD can cause constant distraction, impulsivity, and difficulty focusing.
Landero emphasized that his goal is to foster empathy and education about neurodivergent conditions and to challenge lingering stigma and prejudice.
Alejandro Landero Seeks Privacy, Takes Shelter in His Van
Following intense media attention, Alejandro Landero retreated to a red van where he and his pets took shelter to escape reporters.
When approached by cameras, he politely but firmly declined interviews.
“No cameras, please. They’re recording — not right now. I’m not giving interviews,” he said, visibly uncomfortable yet calm.
He explained that while he had slept outdoors for a few nights, his situation had been resolved, and he was now safe with his animals, who were “warm and protected.”
Actor Clarifies He Has Support and Future Plans
Alejandro Landero shared that he had received help to find housing and would soon move to Puerto Vallarta, thanks to a person who offered him a temporary home.
“Someone lent me a house, and I’m moving to Puerto Vallarta. A private individual helped me,” he said, adding that he has family in Mexico City but plans to start new projects elsewhere.
He also denied claims that he was entirely without money, stating that some reports exaggerated his condition.
Before leaving, he confirmed that his acting career ended more than three decades ago, following a “blacklist” or other industry circumstances.
“Yes, I have money, and I’m being helped. My acting career ended 33 years ago — for whatever reason. Please, stop recording,” he concluded.
