Following the operation against Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho,” an old video of soccer player Antonio Briseño, known as “Pollo,” sending a personalized greeting to the criminal leader has gone viral again on social media.

Four years ago, while playing for Chivas de Guadalajara, Briseño recorded a greeting through Famosos.com, a platform where fans pay for personalized messages.

In the video, the defender mentions Oseguera Cervantes by name, apparently without knowing the identity of the recipient.

“Hello Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, how are you? It’s your friend Antonio ‘Pollo’ Briseño…”

The message reportedly cost 1,080 pesos and, according to later accounts, may have been a prank paid for by a third party.

The video showing Antonio Briseño’s message to El Mencho resurfaced after renewed attention on the CJNG leader, sparking debate once again.

Reactions and Criticism to Antonio Briseño Message to El Mencho

At the time, the video showing the message of Antonio Briseño to El Mencho generated criticism, with some questioning whether the player truly knew who the greeting was addressed to. Speculation also arose about a possible link, though nothing was ever proven.

Later reports indicated that the request had not been made by teammates, but rather by a fan. Briseño did not publicly elaborate on whether he knew the recipient’s identity at the time of recording the message.
