You Have Little Time Left to Claim Up to $7,500 From AT&T: What You Need to Know
AT&T data compensation program allows eligible customers to receive up to $7,500. Here we explain how to file a claim and who qualifies
- The AT&T compensation follows a lawsuit over data breaches.
- Customers may receive up to $7,500.
- The deadline to file a claim ends in December.
Millions of AT&T users may be entitled to compensation for data breaches that occurred between 2022 and 2024.
Following a class-action lawsuit, the company agreed to create a $177 million fund to compensate affected customers.
Depending on the type of breach, some individuals could receive up to $7,500.
To receive payment, filing a claim before the deadline is mandatory.
What Caused the AT&T Data Breach Compensation Program?
AT&T confirmed in March 2024 that personal information belonging to millions of users had been leaked on the dark web.
Months later, the company acknowledged that additional data had been illegally downloaded from a cloud-based workspace belonging to an external vendor in 2022.
Both incidents triggered lawsuits that led to the current settlement.
The company created two funds: one with $149 million for those affected by the first breach, and another with $28 million for those impacted by the second.
Kroll, a firm specializing in class-action administration, is managing the entire process, according to Business Insider.

Customers must file a claim before December 18 to receive any payment.
This is the only way to obtain the data breach compensation from AT&T.
Those who wished to exclude themselves from the settlement needed to do so before November 17, preserving their right to sue separately.
Who Qualifies for Payment?
The compensation is divided into two categories:
- AT&T Class 1: Data included in the first breach, such as names, addresses, emails, birthdates, passcodes, account numbers, and Social Security numbers.
- AT&T Class 2: Information affected in the second breach, including call-related records.
Available payments:
- Up to $5,000 for documented losses in AT&T Class 1
- Up to $2,500 for AT&T Class 2
- Proportional Tier 1, 2, or 3 payments depending on available funds
- Customers in both classes may receive up to a total of $7,500
Impact on the Latino Community
The data breaches have raised concern among Latino users who rely on AT&T to stay connected with family and for work.
The risk of data misuse increases financial stress, especially for individuals with limited credit history or documentation.
Checking eligibility is crucial, as many customers are unaware they can file a claim — particularly those who were customers years ago.
How to File a Claim
Claims may be submitted:

What Comes Next
After the filing period ends, Kroll will evaluate submissions and distribute the funds.

For the Hispanic community, staying informed in time could provide meaningful financial relief.
