Monday morning was different for Zara employees in Sabón, in the municipality of Arteixo, A Coruña.
When they arrived at work, they found a card signed by Bad Bunny alongside a copy of the shirt the singer wore at the Super Bowl, according to sources from the staff who confirmed the details to EFE.
The message, dated the previous night, was direct and full of gratitude:
“Thank you for the time, the talent, and the heart you put into this. Thank you for making it real. This show was yours too. I hope you enjoy it. See you soon!
Benito.”
The gesture was received as an explicit acknowledgment of the collective work behind one of the most talked-about garments at the year’s biggest sporting event, strengthening Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl tribute to Zara.
Zara, the Brand Bad Bunny Chose for a Global Stage

Instead of turning to luxury fashion houses, Bad Bunny opted for an accessible, widely recognized brand for his wardrobe.
The shirt he wore during the show was designed by Zara and was part of an outfit inspired by American football aesthetics.
The cream-colored cropped shirt featured the number 64 on the front and the surname “Ocasio” on the back.
The look was completed with a monochromatic two-piece outfit consisting of a collared shirt and tie, trousers, Adidas sneakers, and a Royal Oak watch by Audemars Piguet, made of 18-karat yellow gold with a malachite dial, as reported by Vogue. The sneakers were from Adidas.
The Symbolism Behind the Number and the Surname
The number 64 and the surname Ocasio were not chosen at random.
It later emerged that both hold personal meaning for Bad Bunny.
- The number refers to his late uncle, who played American football and wore that jersey number, and who also shared the singer’s name.
- The number has also been interpreted as an allusion to the impact of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico in 2017.
Initially, local authorities reported 64 deaths—a figure that was heavily questioned and later corrected to 2,975 fatalities following a study by the George Washington University.
That revised figure was publicly disputed by Donald Trump, who was serving as U.S. president at the time.
A Historic Show Filled with Message and Identity
Bad Bunny led an unprecedented halftime show, becoming the first artist to do so with a completely Spanish-language repertoire.
The performance was packed with symbols tied to Puerto Rico, migration, and Latino identity in the United States.
During the show, he carried an American football bearing the phrase “Together, we are America,” shouted “God bless America!”, and recited the names of several Latin American countries from which millions of immigrants originate—adding the United States, Canada, and his “motherland,” Puerto Rico, at the end.
Behind him, an electronic screen displayed the message “The only thing more powerful than hate is love,” as fireworks lit up the stadium with columns of red, white, and blue smoke.
A Gesture That Amplifies the Message Beyond the Stage
After the performance, Zara also reacted with a statement saying:
“It was an amazing show. Benito put on a memorable performance. What a great outfit.”
With the delivery of the shirts and his personal message, Bad Bunny closed the circle between the global stage and the everyday work behind the scenes—reinforcing a narrative that connects music, identity, and collective recognition, and solidifying the Bad Bunny Zara Super Bowl tribute.
