President Biden surprised everyone on Wednesday by testing positive for COVID-19 again, resulting in the cancellation of a long-awaited speech to a Latino advocacy group in Sin City.

The news was announced by Janet Murguía, president of UnidosUS, who revealed the diagnosis while the attendees grew impatient with the delay of the 81-year-old president.

“I just got off the phone with President Biden and he told me how deeply disappointed he was that he couldn’t join us this afternoon,” she said.

«The president has been to many events, as we all know, and he has just tested positive for Covid,» Murguía added to the attendees.

“We really appreciate your willingness to be here. I had a great introduction that reminded us of all the actions you have taken for our community,” she told the audience.

Prior to learning of his positive result, Biden had recorded an interview for Univision, scheduled to air on Thursday.

But the virus caught up with him early, disrupting his schedule and raising concerns about possible exposures during his recent visit to Nevada.

Reports indicate the president greeted residents at a Mexican restaurant and took at least three selfies shortly before his diagnosis.

This is not the first time the president has faced COVID-19; he previously tested positive in July 2022, overcoming the disease without requiring hospitalization.

Despite this, this new positive test comes at a time of growing political unrest, according to The US Sun.

He is facing criticism from within his party, with Democrats suggesting he should consider stepping aside following his disastrous performance in the June 27 debate against Donald Trump.

In that debate, Biden repeatedly appeared confused and made puzzling comments, including claims to have “finally defeated Medicare.”
