- They Offer Their Unconditional Support.
The family of President Joe Biden encouraged him on Sunday during a meeting at Camp David to continue his reelection campaign.
This comes despite some voices within the Democratic Party urging him to withdraw after his weak performance in the debate against former President Donald Trump.
According to two of Biden’s advisors, cited by CNN, the family offered the president their «unconditional support.»
This support was given during the meeting at the secluded Camp David residence, attended by First Lady Jill Biden, their children, and grandchildren.
Biden Family Support His Continuation

The meeting had been planned weeks in advance for a photo session with renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz.
However, the gathering became highly anticipated as the president’s family has always played a crucial role in his political decisions.
During the meeting, the family urged him to keep fighting with the conviction that he can do a good job over the next four years, according to sources close to The New York Times and CNN.
One of the strongest voices urging Biden to resist the pressure is his son Hunter.
Hunter has had his own legal battles due to an investigation opened during Trump’s administration.
This recently resulted in him being found guilty of charges related to the illegal purchase and possession of a firearm.

Hunter Biden wants the president to stay in the race for the White House to show voters his fighting spirit.
Rather than the image projected on the debate night of an aging president with a hoarse voice who didn’t finish some of his sentences.
Other Biden family members have also offered their support and to be more involved in the campaign.
For example, one of the president’s grandchildren has offered to speak with social media influencers to help amplify his message, according to a source cited by The New York Times.
Besides supporting the president, the family has privately expressed frustration over how his advisors prepared him for the debate, according to The New York Times and Politico, which also cited sources familiar with the conversations.
Specifically, Biden’s relatives criticized Anita Dunn, one of his closest advisors, and her husband, Robert Bauer, the president’s personal attorney, who played Trump during debate preparations.
One of the Democratic Party’s most significant donors, John Morgan, has publicly called for the resignation of both Anita Dunn and Robert Bauer.
He also criticized Ron Klain, who served as Biden’s chief of staff from January 2021 to February 2023 and helped him prepare for the debate.
According to Morgan on X, the advisors made Joe Biden «over-practice,» leaving him «exhausted» by the time of the debate.
In the days following the debate, Biden publicly acknowledged that his performance was not up to par.
Instead of dispelling voters’ doubts about his age, his voice sounded hoarse during the debate, and at times he appeared incoherent and unable to finish sentences.
Nearly half of Democratic voters want another candidate.
This poor performance has already taken a toll among voters, as revealed by the polls now being published.
A new CBS poll released this Sunday showed that nearly half of Democratic voters, 45%, believe Joe Biden should step down for a different candidate to face Trump.
Additionally, following the debate, a significant portion of Americans (72%) believes president Joe Biden is not capable of governing.
Only 27% of all voters believe Biden possesses the cognitive health to serve as president, a figure that has dropped from 35% before the debate, according to CBS.
Despite these numbers, another poll published on Saturday by the think tank Data for Progress also reveals that none of the potential alternatives to Biden have better chances of defeating Trump.
According to that poll, Vice President Kamala Harris would receive 45% of the vote in a hypothetical matchup with Trump, who would get 48%, the same numbers Biden currently garners.
California Governor Gavin Newsom and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who are also considered potential Biden replacements, would also lose with 44% of the vote each.
