- Will Claudia Sheinbaum’s victory be overturned?
Following her defeat in Mexico’s presidential elections, former candidate Xóchitl Gálvez released a video message confirming what many anticipated.
With only 27 percent of the vote against nearly 60 percent for her opponent Claudia Sheinbaum, the candidate from the Fuerza y Corazón por México coalition shared significant news.
In a video posted on social networks, Xóchitl Gálvez stated that she has requested the National Electoral Institute (INE) to conduct a vote-by-vote recount at 80 percent of the polling stations that showed irregularities.
She claimed that there are many errors or ‘issues’ with the vote tally sheets from several stations that differ from the results provided by the Preliminary Electoral Results Program (PREP), as reported by Excelsior.

In the video, which lasts just over 2 minutes, the former candidate explains: «Rest assured that the recount is already prepared in each of the 300 electoral districts to ensure that your vote counts.»
She added: «For now, we are requesting a review of every vote in 80% of the polling stations,» she said, also urging citizens to stay vigilant.

Did They Intervene in Mexico’s Presidency?

Gálvez’s words were forceful: «to clarify the vote of all Mexicans and to expose everything that happened in the elections.»
She also stated that the presidency under Andrés Manuel López Obrador intervened to secure a favorable outcome for Morena’s candidate, Claudia Sheinbaum.
Additionally, she has requested to be reinstated to the Senate.
Xóchitl Gálvez made the request through a digital letter addressed to the board of directors, having taken a leave of absence from this role on November 20, 2023.
