The Cuban vedette Niurka Marcos broke down in tears while speaking about the Cuba energy crisis affecting the island where she was born.
From Mexico, where she has built much of her career, she expressed pain and outrage over the current situation.
In a television interview, she described the scenario as “filthy,” which she said was caused by years of poor political management.
Her statements come amid a critical situation marked by blackouts and shortages.
The Cuba energy crisis is worsening
Cuba is facing an energy collapse that has left large areas without electricity following total system shutdowns.
In February, the lack of power prevented 50,000 surgical procedures from being carried out, according to local authorities.

Power outages have lasted up to 15 hours in Havana and up to 48 hours in some provinces.
Dependence on fuel to supply thermal power plants has deepened the emergency.
“There is nothing, no light, no life”
Through tears, Niurka described the atmosphere of desperation that, she claims, the Cuban people are experiencing due to the Cuba energy crisis.
“There is nothing, no light, no life, there is sadness, there is anguish, there is despair,” she said.
She also stated that in the streets, “people are already out there shouting for Trump to come save them.”
“What’s happening in Cuba is filthy,” she added, visibly shaken.
Politics, pressure, and controversial statements
Power on the island remains concentrated in the Communist Party under President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump said he hopes to have “the honor of taking Cuba, in some way.”
He also spoke of “liberating” it in a context of external pressure and diplomatic tensions. According to Niurka:
“If Trump has helped Venezuela and other countries, Cubans say, ‘Here we are, help us too,’ and that makes me very sad.”
These remarks have sparked controversy both inside and outside the country, amid rising geopolitical tensions.
Fuel shortages and stalled humanitarian aid in Cuba
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs warned about fuel shortages on the island.
The agency noted that the lack of gasoline is hindering the distribution of humanitarian aid during the Cuba energy crisis.
Dozens of containers with supplies remain at the Port of Havana without being distributed.
The Pan American Health Organization has also seen its operations limited despite having medical supplies available.

“The government gives nothing to that country”
Niurka went further by strongly criticizing the Cuban government.
“It’s not just about food… even homes are collapsing,” she said.
“Because the government gives nothing to that country, nothing at all—it doesn’t provide medicine, people are lying on the floor… what’s happening in Cuba is filthy!” she insisted.
The artist affirmed that, despite living outside Cuba, she cannot stop suffering over what is happening in her homeland. WATCH THE INTERVIEW HERE.
