An argument over a reggaeton song ended in tragedy at a Mexican restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In the early hours of Monday, police responded to an emergency call reporting a shooting at Antojitos Mexicanos restaurant.
Upon arrival, authorities found a man dead, later identified as 54-year-old Socorro Camacho.
Witnesses reported that a dispute between Camacho and another man over the music escalated into a deadly shooting.
Dispute Over Reggaeton Song Leads to Fatal Shooting
The altercation began when Camacho angrily complained that the reggaeton song was inappropriate for the venue.
Camacho insulted the other man, accusing him of «not being Mexican,» although both were compatriots.
The verbal confrontation escalated when both men drew firearms.
Camacho was shot multiple times, and the shooter fled the scene.
Julián Camacho, the victim’s brother, expressed his grief and called for increased security in such establishments in an interview with AmericaTeVe.
