But nothing lasts forever, and José Ramón Fernández’s time at TV Azteca came to an end after more than 30 years.

Many were surprised when, almost out of the blue, he appeared on ESPN.

There, he is one of the main hosts of Futbol Picante, where he is surrounded by experts in the sport.

Something that many cannot explain is why he isn’t on the program as much as he used to be.

As mentioned earlier, Javier Alarcón shared sad news about ‘Joserra’.

«We send a big hug to José Ramón Fernández after the death of Mariana Badillo Fernández,» said Alarcón.

She is the sports journalist’s niece, who passed away at the age of 36. No further details have been disclosed.

As Fernández did not appear on the show, many believed that he was the one who had died, but that is not the case.

Journalist Odin Ciani tweeted his condolences to José Ramón Fernández.

However, several people did not take this message well, as Joserra himself has not said anything about the death of his niece.

«I am very sorry for your loss… I join you in your pain and that of her mother, your sister, your other nephews, and her little baby in the family’s painful loss…»

Finally, Ciani reiterated his support for the journalist and his loved ones who are going through this great loss.

It is not the first time that there has been talk about the health of journalist José Ramón Fernández, nor the first time he has been ‘killed off.’

According to infobae, several years ago, he gave a revealing interview to his then-colleague and student, David Faitelson.

In this conversation, he revealed that due to the pressure he faced to deliver results for TV Azteca during the World Cup in Germany, he ended up in the hospital.

«I was unhappy towards the end of my time at TV Azteca. They made my life terrible, so much so that I ended up in the hospital,» he said.
