Ecuadorian journalist Denisse Molina experienced moments of intense fear on the night of Thursday, March 28, when a 7.7 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter in Myanmar struck the region and was strongly felt in Bangkok, Thailand, where Molina was working on her personal project Viaje con propósito.
Through her social media, the journalist shared her experience from the 29th floor.
“We felt the earthquake from Myanmar here in Bangkok.»
«This isn’t a country with frequent seismic activity, but the tremor was very strong. I was on the 29th floor and took shelter under a table for several minutes until I was able to go down the emergency stairs barefoot,” she recounted in a story posted on her Instagram account.

Denisse Molina also expressed her relief.
She confirmed that most of the participants in her program had already left Bangkok and did not experience the quake.
“Fortunately, most had taken flights home early that morning.»
«I always stay a few extra days in Thailand for work,” she explained.

After recounting her experience, Denisse Molina shared a message of solidarity for both Thailand and Myanmar, where the earthquake caused severe damage.
“I love you, my dear Thailand. Authorities are now assessing if there was any damage. I’ll keep coming here a thousand times over. A strong hug for Myanmar, which was severely affected by this earthquake.”
The quake caused widespread destruction in Myanmar’s second-largest city, as authorities continue to assess the damage and search for victims in the midst of an already difficult situation due to the country’s ongoing civil war.
Denisse Molina’s post quickly went viral, drawing messages of support and concern from her followers. As of now, the journalist is safe and continues reporting from Bangkok.
