At the start of the video, Musk remarked, «Let me begin by noting that I am, you know, an immigrant in the US. I’m extremely pro-immigrant.»

“I believe we need a significantly expanded legal immigration system, and we should allow any hardworking and honest individual to contribute to the United States.”

Throughout his live broadcast, Musk did not attempt to converse with the many migrants awaiting processing by authorities.

However, Republican representative Tony Gonzales seized the opportunity to speak into Musk’s microphone, as reported by Efe.  TO WATCH THE VIDEO CLICK HERE.

Republican Tony Gonzales blamed the White House for not taking stronger action to reduce the number of illegal border crossings.

Last Friday, the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported nearly 233,000 arrests of irregular migrants.

This number of arrests of irregular migrants occurred along the border with Mexico during the month of August.

This marks a 27% increase from July and is the highest monthly total so far this year.

While Elon Musk was visiting the southern border, New York City launched a billboard campaign in the same region.

This aims to deter immigrants from heading to New York, following a surge in the number of people crossing from Mexico to Texas.

According to Mayor Eric Adams’ administration, these billboards are designed to «combat misinformation» at the border, from where a continuous flow of immigrants has been heading to New York.

The city has already welcomed approximately 120,000 of these individuals, with at least 60,000 under its care. This number, combined with New York’s homeless population, totals 113,000 people.

According to the Efe news agency, the pamphlets will be distributed in the coming days.

This announcement follows a substantial surge of migrants entering through border cities like Eagle Pass, Texas, located near the Rio Grande.

In response to the influx, Mayor Rolando Salinas has declared a state of emergency.

“We want people to understand what the city can provide and what it can no longer accommodate,” stated Anne Williams-Isom, New York’s Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services.

The pamphlets, available in both English and Spanish, directly address potential immigrants with clear messages:

«They won’t put you up in a hotel,» and «New York City can’t assist you with a work permit, making it challenging to find work.»

Additionally, they state, “New York City’s resources are exhausted.”

Another message highlights, «NY is among the most expensive cities globally; it’s recommended to seek a more affordable city.»
