At 18 years old, the young model continued her career — which began in 2023 — with a runway show that marked a turning point.

Emily wore a dress that impressed not only for its design but also for its deep meaning. “I wasn’t just walking the runway, I was telling a story,” she expressed after her presentation.

The piece was part of the Morelia collection, a proposal created from the designer’s heart. Emily’s boyfriend, singer Jaziel Avilez, attended the event to support her, reinforcing the close bond he maintains with the Álvarez family.

The collection was conceived as a tribute to Morelia, Alonso Máximo’s schnauzer who recently passed away. The designer explained on social media that the collection was born from love and grief.

“This piece is not born from fashion; it is born from love, from loss, and from a deeply sentimental feeling,” he wrote on Instagram. The photos alongside Emily quickly went viral due to the emotional story behind the dress, making the Emily Cinnamon New York Fashion Week debut even more meaningful.

A Design That Honors Life and Memory

The dress combined traditional elements with modern and symbolic touches. White dominated the look, accompanied by a maximalist print in orange, yellow, and blue.

It also featured references to the Mayan calendar and multiple illustrations of schnauzers in honor of Morelia. The silhouette stood out with a voluminous skirt, a structured corset, and peasant-style sleeves.

The designer explained that the final piece, titled “Morelia Eterna,” was a tribute to his ten-year companion. “More than a dress, it was a living tribute, an expression of unconditional love transformed into haute couture,” he shared on social media.

Each color carried emotional meaning: yellow symbolized the spark of life, gold represented loyalty, and red conveyed deep love. White embodied purity and the eternal space where Morelia’s memory would live on.

A Story That Had to Be Told

Alonso Máximo confessed that when he created the dress, he never imagined sharing it publicly. He admitted that at first, he did not have “the strength or courage” to finish the piece.

However, Fashion Week became the perfect stage to honor his personal journey.

“My goal has always been to tell a story, and this story had to be told,” the designer concluded.

With this presentation, Emily Cinnamon solidified her place as one of the rising young promises of Latin fashion, shining in a design that united art, memory, and love during Emily Cinnamon’s New York Fashion Week debut.
