Wearing blood-stained clothes, Alexander Roque reportedly arrived at the Florida City Police Department to confess that he had his girlfriend’s corpse in his car.
At 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, homicide detectives surrounded the white Hyundai Tucson driven by the 48-year-old.
Incredulous at such a macabre confession, officers looked inside the car and, just as Roque had stated, found Yessenia Rodríguez Márquez’s corpse.

Yessenia Rodríguez Márquez, 44, was in the passenger seat, while the alleged murder weapon was found on the driver’s side floor.
The circumstances surrounding the murder are not clear. However, authorities indicated they had two key witnesses in the case.
Minutes before Roque’s arrival at the Folrida City Police Department, a 911 call was made requesting help for a woman in danger.
The person reporting the attack was Roque’s cousin, one of two people he had reportedly contacted after shooting his girlfriend, according to the official report.

The second witness was the victim’s ex-husband who, according to sources close to WSVN, Roque called on WhatsApp to tell him he had killed Yessenia.
Yessenia’s ex recorded the call.
Upon discovering the body, detectives informed Roque that he was under arrest for second-degree murder.
The victim was transported to the coroner’s office.
Why did Alexander Roque kill his girlfriend?

As authorities try to gather evidence, Roque was transferred to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County.
According to jail records, the suspect was put in his cell shortly after 9:45 a.m. on Sunday and has been denied bail.
Now, Roque must appear in court to find out if he will be granted bail.
