Bryar joined My Chemical Romance in 2004, replacing the band’s original drummer, Matt Pelissier, and became the longest-serving member in that role.

His contribution was pivotal to the 2006 album The Black Parade, the band’s most iconic work, which defined a generation.

After leaving the band in 2010, Bryar pursued other musical projects and later transitioned to a career in real estate.

Despite this shift, his time with My Chemical Romance remains a golden era cherished by both him and the fans.

In a 2016 interview with Alternative Press, Bob Bryar reflected on his early days with the band and its profound impact on his life. «I knew [MCR] was special from the beginning,» he remarked.

«I left a really good job to join a broke band with a beat-up, smelly van, but I never regretted it. I wanted to help them evolve and play with them every night.»

Among his fondest memories, Bryar highlighted The Black Parade tour, which he described as «the most fun period of my entire life.»

He explained that the members of My Chemical Romance reinvested everything they earned into the production of the show, prioritizing the fan experience over profit.
