Mexico wakes up to sad news as the National Guard confirms that popular influencer Tania Guzmán, a TikToker who rose to fame in a short time, has died. Her body was found in a ravine, according to infobae and Nación 321.

Tania was reported missing 25 days ago and members of the National Guard found her after detecting a fetid odor so they decided to search and found the body after reports of a fetid odor. But that’s not all…

HOW WAS TANIA GUZMÁN’S BODY FOUND?

After her disappearance was reported, the Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office followed Alba Alert protocols. The 23-year-old was last seen on April 21 at 8:45 p.m. in the Jaroche neighborhood of the Puruándiro municipality. Her body was found in a ravine in the municipality of Villa Morelos.

The National Guard and Civil Guard were searching when they detected a fetid odor coming from the bottom of a cliff at kilometer 37 of the Morelos-Huaniqueo highway.

IT WAS A CLANDESTINE GRAVE

The agents went down several yards and found at least seven bodies, all of them in a state of decomposition. The Forensic Medical Service took the bodies to perform autopsies.

None could be identified because of their advanced state of decomposition, so DNA tests were carried out. That was how it was confirmed that the influencer was one of the victims.

WHO WAS TANIA GUZMÁN?

Tania Araceli Guzmán was better known in the world of social media as @TanMua. She created content about makeup, fashion and rodeos. Little by little she became one of the most popular influencers in Mexico.

Shortly before she died, the TikToker had 23,000 subscribers on YouTube alone. In one of her last videos, Tania Guzmán explained why she had been away from social media.

«NOT FEELING WELL»

She stated that she was «not quite right» but her mood had improved and she was in a new relationship with someone she described as «not much into social media».

Ater finding the clandestine grave, authorities continue to investigate what happened to Tania as well as who the other six victims are.
