The President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, announced the appointment of Tom Homan, former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as the «Border Czar» in his upcoming administration.
According to Trump, Homan, known for his strong stance on immigration issues, will be responsible for both the southern and northern borders.
He will also oversee air and maritime security and the mass deportations of undocumented migrants.
“I am pleased to announce that former ICE director, and a staunch supporter of border control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump administration,” wrote the President-elect on his platform Truth Social.

In an interview with Fox News, Homan linked the presence of undocumented migrants with sex trafficking and forced labor.

«Where do we find more victims of sex trafficking and forced labor? In workplaces,» he stated in the interview.
Additionally, he underscored an alleged connection between migrants and exploitation situations.
He assured that ICE will implement Trump’s policies in a “humane” manner.
He also said that this will be done without military involvement, and that immigration agents will be trained to act in a planned and targeted manner.
During this year’s National Conservative Conference, Tom Homan warned of his plans for a massive deportation operation, stating that “no one is off the table” and those residing in the country illegally “should be on alert” in 2025.
He reiterated his commitment to carry out one of the largest deportations in the history of the United States, according to AP.
