Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed that his country will maintain tariffs against the United States.
This measure will remain in place until the Trump administration fully eliminates its trade levies.
Trudeau made it clear that Canada will not suspend its tariffs just because the U.S. made a recent policy shift.
On Wednesday, the U.S. government announced a one-month suspension of the 25% tariffs on the auto sector.
Canada Stands Firm in Trade War with the US

This decision affects trade with both Canada and Mexico, but it does not mean a permanent cancellation of tariffs.
Trudeau reiterated that Canada’s goal is to eliminate all tariffs and reduce their economic impact.
He warned that the trade war with the U.S. will persist in the near future.
The Canadian Prime Minister urged citizens to continue supporting local production and buying domestic products.
He assured that Canada will respond firmly as long as tariffs remain in place.
Trudeau also spoke about his 50-minute call with Trump on Wednesday.
