Florida man involved in deadly crash after day drinking on a date
Carlos Humberto Fabián was charged with DUI after a fatal accident in Miami following a day of drinking with a woman.

Carlos Humberto Fabián spent the day drinking with a date, wound up driving in the wrong direction and crashed into a motorcycle. instantly killing the rider and injuring his passenger.
According to the police investigation, Fabián had been with a woman from 3:00 p.m. until late at night.
The woman’s mobile phone was recovered inside Fabián’s car and, when questioned by police, she confirmed that during their 11-hour date, they intermittently drank alcohol. However, she was not with him when the accident occurred.

Carlos Humberto Fabián involved in fatal accident in Miami

According to the arrest warrant, Fabián was driving a Volkswagen Jetta north on North Miami Avenue when he approached NE 10th Street.
He veered off the road into the southbound lanes, hitting a Hyundai Sedan and the motorcycle driven by Bobby Jenkins, 36, along with his passenger, Lindsey Laquerre.
According to the police report, Jenkins died instantly, while Laquerre was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center. There, she was treated for a fractured pelvis, femur and a concussion.
After the crash, Fabián’s car caught fire, but he was able to escape unharmed.
A date ends in tragedy

Fabián failed a field sobriety test at the scene and had his blood tested for alcohol at the hospital.
The results are still unknown.
Detectives noted in their report that the Jetta’s driver had red, watery eyes and his breath smelled strongly of alcohol.
Fabián was arrested immediately following the accident.
