In October 2020, in the midst of the Covid pandemic, Lisa Dykes allegedly stabbed Marisela Botello to death.

The young woman had come from Seattle to visit a friend in Dallas, Texas when she met Charles Beltrán at a bar. That was where she was last seen.

On Friday, December 8, he gave incredible testimony, sharing revealing details of her murder.

According to Telemundo Dallas, Charles Beltrán spent several hours testifying about Marisela Botello’s murder.

He shared how he saw accused murderer, Lisa Dykes, the same night he met Marisela. He also revealed the reason he went on the run.

According to his testimony, Charles Beltrán and Marisela Botello met at a bar and she came home with him.

Botello’s mother couldn’t bear to hear this and broke down in tears.

Charles Beltrán says he woke up to Marisela Botello’s screams

In another part of his testimony, Charles Beltrán said that he woke up to Marisela Botello screaming for help.

He said he saw Lisa Dykes on top of the young woman with a knife in her hand, so he pushed her, but shortly after, Marisela lost consciousness.

He said he didn’t call the police because he was in shock and feared that his appearance and background would work against him.

Lisa Dykes’s lawyers pointed out the multiple false statements that Beltrán made during the course of the investigation.

Beltrán’s trial will take place in 2024

Charles Beltrán will stand trial for his part in the murder in 2024.

He reiterated that he had nothing to do with Marisela Botello’s murder and that after the stabbing he went to the bathroom and washed his face.

When he looked back at the bloody scene, he decided to leave the house and he said he didn’t know that the young woman’s remains had been taken to Wilmer, Texas.

As if that wasn’t enough, Nina Marano and Lisa Dykes to give her money after Nina sold a house.

Charles Beltrán said Marisela Botello was ‘really cool’

According to Univision, Charles Beltrán described Marisela Botello as «really cool and fun.»

He claims they had sexual relations the night they met, and then he fell asleep.

After allegedly stabbing the young woman, he said Lisa Dykes confronted him for bringing girls to the house and asked why he disrespected her and Nina.

«She was just there lifeless,» said Charles, who allegedly had a relationship with both Lisa and Nina Marano.

Marisela Botello was reported missing

Finally, it is worth remembering that Marisela Botello’s remains were found in Wilmer, Texas, six months after her murder.

According to Univisión, Charles Beltrán told Lisa Dykes that she had to «figure this sh*t out.»

He stated that he wants to cooperate with authorities and admitted that he made the mistake of not doing so from the beginning.

Nina Marano will have her trial in February of next year. This case has had a significant impact on the Latino community in the United States.
