- Christian Nodal leaves Reclusorio Oriente
- Long and decisive hearing
- Documents legally validated
Minutes before 7 a.m. on November 19, the lengthy hearing in which Christian Nodal faced allegations of document falsification concluded at the Reclusorio Oriente in Mexico City.
The process began close to midnight, following multiple delays accumulated since the afternoon of November 18, when the singer arrived accompanied by his father and legal team.
After a recess around 4 a.m., the singer exited the facility surrounded by dozens of journalists, onlookers, and fans who waited all night for the final decision.
At that moment it became known that the Public Prosecutor’s Office was unable to sustain the accusations and that the artist would not be formally charged.
Christian Nodal Faces Allegations Over Allegedly False Documents

The investigation by the Fiscalía General de la República sought to determine whether Nodal and his parents had used copies of allegedly falsified public documents in their legal dispute with the record label Universal Music.
On Tuesday the 18th, the creator of “mariacheño” arrived at Reclusorio Oriente just after 2:00 p.m., avoiding questions from the press.
Additionally, the hearing—originally set to begin at 2:30 p.m.—was delayed due to the day’s courtroom backlog.
The session did not begin until just before midnight, prolonging the proceedings into the early morning hours. According to media reports, the defense presented documents that had not yet been reviewed by the authorities, causing an additional pause.
The Hearing Continued Throughout the Night
By 6 a.m., reporters such as Sebastián Reséndiz confirmed that Nodal and his team were still inside the facility reviewing the evidence presented.
The defense insisted on the authenticity of the documents that Universal Music had questioned since 2021, when the legal dispute began over the rights to songs recorded early in the singer’s career.
The label also claimed that the documents Christian Nodal submitted were allegedly endorsed by notary Luis Fernando Ruibal Coker, who later denied having worked with the singer.
This led to a series of hearings to clarify the origin and validity of those papers. Both Nodal and his parents had been summoned to an initial hearing for possible falsification of contracts.

The Singer Celebrates Not Being Charged
Minutes before 8:00 a.m., Christian Nodal left Reclusorio Oriente alongside his parents to confirm that the judge had dismissed the accusations.
“I have always believed in justice,” the visibly exhausted singer said after more than 17 hours of proceedings. He added that the decision shows “there is not even a single piece of paper that proves we falsified any document.”
The artist asked for respect from the media and reminded them that just as claims of “33 falsified documents” were widely spread, the judge has now determined that none were irregular. This hearing was decisive, as formal charges could have resulted in precautionary measures ranging from surrendering passports to justified imprisonment.
With this decision, the singer and his parents are cleared of charges, while the legal battle with the record label over the rights to his music continues, according to El Universal and El Heraldo de México—another development in the Christian Nodal court hearing.
