It’s a 1977 movie called «Close Encounters of the Third Kind.»
Although it’s not based on any particular real case, it draws inspiration from many real-life accounts of people encountering aliens.
In the movie, three different people interact with aliens, showing us how these aliens try to send a message that we understand by the end.
Multiple extraterrestrial cases movie

This is a production that leaves the viewer amazed at how the details of the UFO phenomenon are explained.
The movie combines various mysteries, such as the disappearances of Flight 19 and the Cotopaxi ship in the Bermuda Triangle, and strange happenings in the Sonora desert.
Josef Allen Hynek, a UFO researcher for the US Air Force, links these stories.
He defines «close encounters» in three categories:
Types of alien encounters

A) Close Encounters of the First Kind: You see things in the sky that you don’t recognize, like disks or lights.
B) Close Encounters of the Second Kind: You find evidence, like marks on the ground, cars that won’t start, or burnt grass near where a UFO was sighted.
C) Close Encounters of the Third Kind: You see or talk to beings from space.
He talks not just of «extraterrestrials» but of «beings» because there are many things we still don’t know.
Crop circles

Jeunet assisted with the movie and even appears in a scene. He also discusses the large patterns that appear in fields, which have caused much curiosity and debate.
To sum up, the movie tells stories inspired by people who claim to have seen aliens.
However, aliens aren’t the only things in the sky.
Have you ever wondered, what to do if a meteorite falls to Earth?
Protocol for meteorites

There’s a protocol for when things fall from the sky, like meteorites, because they might carry bacteria harmful to us.
Most of these space rocks break up in the air, and few reach the ground. That’s why large impacts are rare.
Experts have form a network called «Asteroid Alert Network» to spot dangerous things in space and warn us before they fall.
Regarding UFOs, some people think they might carry bacteria, like when the Europeans brought diseases to America. But nobody has proven they carry those bacteria.
