Following the Trump hotel bombing incident, a bomb threat in South Carolina has raised alarm, causing the closure of a stretch of Interstate 85 in Greenville County.

According to preliminary reports, the driver of an 18-wheeler claimed to have an explosive device on board after being detained by State Transportation Police.

The incident occurred between exits 42 and 44, near White Horse Road, the police reported. Daily Mail.

Local authorities have deployed their bomb squad to the area, while a detour is being created to relieve congested traffic that stretches for several kilometers.

THREAT IN SOUTH CAROLINA SET OFF THE ALARMS

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division confirmed that specialized agents are working to evaluate the veracity of the threat.

So far, no detonations or victims have been reported.

«We are acting with extreme caution to protect citizens and ensure their safety,» declared a spokesperson for the authorities.

This incident occurs a few days after other tragic events in the country.

MATTHEW LIVELSBERGER SHOT HIMSELF BEFORE THE EXPLOSION

A Tesla Cybertruck loaded with fireworks and weapons exploded last Wednesday in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.

The incident left seven people with minor injuries and sparked speculation about the motive behind the incident.

Authorities have identified the driver as Matthew Livelsberger, a highly decorated Green Beret in the United States Army.

The subject shot himself moments before the detonation, according to the FBI.

Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill explained that the Cybertruck’s steel structure cushioned the force of the explosive, limiting damage to the interior of the vehicle and preventing further damage.

“The level of sophistication is not what we would expect from someone with his military training,” said Kenny Cooper, special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Although the detonation occurred in front of the Trump building, Spencer Evans of the FBI in Las Vegas said there was no evidence that the attack was motivated by political or ideological reasons.

Elon Musk himself, CEO of Tesla, clarified in his X account that the explosion was not related to failures in the vehicle.

Matthew Livelsberger’s profile

Livelsberger, 37, originally from Colorado, had served in the Green Berets since 2006.

During his military career he accumulated five Bronze Stars, a medal for bravery under fire.

And other decorations for his work in Afghanistan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Georgia and the Congo.

At the time of the incident, he was on leave after returning from a mission in Germany.

Investigation in progress

According to statements from an anonymous official, Livelsberger would have had an argument with his wife shortly before renting the Tesla and purchasing the weapons found in the vehicle.

Among the charred remains were a passport, military IDs and electronic devices.

The Cybertruck’s route was traced from Denver to Las Vegas, with stops in Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona.

Security videos and charging stations confirmed that Livelsberger was traveling alone.

Political repercussions

The investigation also included a search of his home in Colorado Springs, where neighbors described the former soldier as a “normal guy,” married with a baby.

Authorities are also investigating possible connections to an attack in New Orleans the same day, where Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar drove a truck into a crowd.

Although both individuals were stationed at the Fort Liberty military base (formerly Fort Bragg), no relationship has been found between the cases.

The incident has also generated attention for the relationship between Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Musk, who supported Trump’s presidential campaign with $250 million, denied any link between the vehicle and the explosion.
