Producer and director Mario Mitrotti has passed away at the age of 80 due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a condition he had been battling for several years.
Besides directing series like Pandillas: Guerra y Paz and Los Victorinos, he is also remembered for discovering Sofia Vergara.
It was just a few months ago that he was last seen at a public event, where he was in a wheelchair and required oxygen.

With a career spanning over 50 years, he led television productions like Hermosa Niña, Flor Salvaje, and Ojo por Ojo.
Mario Mitrotti directed movies such as Las Cuatro Edades del Amor, El Candidato, and Mujer de Fuego, among others.
