Since the departure of Myrka Dellanos from La Mesa Caliente, Telemundo’s popular talk show has been at the center of media attention.

Three weeks ago, Giselle Blondet announced Dellanos’s exit live on air, thanking the Cuban-American journalist for her contributions since the program’s debut.

“Our colleague Myrka Dellanos will no longer be part of this show. We thank her for her valuable contributions and wish her much success in her future projects,” Blondet said.

Since then, several guest hosts have temporarily filled the vacant chair, including Cristina Porta, winner of Top Chef VIP 4 and former contestant on La Casa de los Famosos 4.

Cristina Porta Breaks Her Silence

The Spanish journalist and television personality was invited to the podcast Cara a Cara con Rodner, hosted by Rodner Figueroa, where she addressed for the first time the rumors naming her as a possible Myrka Dellanos replacement.

“I don’t really like the word ‘replacement,’” Porta clarified. “I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Myrka, and she’s irreplaceable. I don’t know how long I’ll be here, but I can’t say I’ll be the replacement because I honestly don’t know — and I don’t think that’s the case.”

Her comments reflected respect toward Dellanos’s career, as the veteran journalist was one of the key figures of La Mesa Caliente since its launch.

Porta emphasized that her participation in the program has been temporary and that there is no official confirmation of her permanent inclusion in the hosting team.

“The Show Fits Everything I Am”

During the interview, Rodner Figueroa asked whether she would like to become a permanent host on La Mesa Caliente.

Porta responded enthusiastically: “Would I like to work on La Mesa Caliente? I’d love to. I’m very happy with all the women there — the team is wonderful. I also feel it’s a show that fits everything I am.”

The Spanish journalist admitted that Myrka Dellanos’s departure took her by surprise, but she described her experience on the show as both rewarding and professionally challenging.

“Myrka did an important job, and I was surprised that she was no longer there,” she added.

Uncertain Future for Telemundo’s Panel Show

For now, Telemundo has not announced who will officially take over Myrka Dellanos’s position.

The program, hosted by Giselle Blondet, Verónica Bastos, and Andrea Meza, continues airing Monday through Friday at 3 p.m. (Eastern Time).

Meanwhile, Cristina Porta’s presence continues to spark interest among fans, who have shown their support for the Spanish communicator on social media.

With charisma and confidence in front of the camera, Porta seems to have won the audience’s affection — though the future of La Mesa Caliente remains open to surprises, according to People en Español.
