Two earthquakes have been recorded in Spanish-speaking countries, neither triggering tsunami alerts.

In Costa Rica, a 4.7 magnitude earthquake occurred near Tamarindo in the province of Guanacaste at 00:10 UTC, according to the USGS.

With a depth of 10 kilometers, the tremor shook nearby cities such as Santa Cruz and Liberia, but no casualties or major damage were reported.

Authorities confirmed that despite the tremor, «there is no tsunami danger» due to the magnitude of the earthquake.

The tremor had a depth of 31.3 kilometers, as reported by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

The quake was felt in several nearby areas, although no significant damage was reported.

Preliminary assessments indicated that neither of these earthquakes in Costa Rica or Dominican Republic posed a tsunami risk to the affected countries or nearby Caribbean islands.

Such as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The USGS and the Tsunami Warning Center continue to monitor seismic activity in the region.

Although no immediate preventive actions are expected, they recommend that the population remain alert to possible aftershocks.
