Breaking the law turned Édgar Acero Vázquez, 43, into a danger to the community. After reoffending, he returned to prison with 10 additional charges.

The Hispanic man enjoyed freedom with the sole requirement of registering as a sex offender every time he moved.

Acero Vázquez did not fulfill his obligation and arrived in Washoe County, Nevada, where he was again accused of sexual assault against a child.

Édgar Acero Vázquez Faces More Trouble

The Washoe Sheriff’s Office learned of Acero Vázquez’s parole violation and ordered his capture.

On June 29, the Reno Police Department located the accused and took him to prison.

The Latino was charged with a new felony: violating the sex offender registry.

Until that date, authorities were unaware of the predator’s latest actions.

Within 48 hours, officers filed a new charge against Édgar Acero Vázquez.

The new victim was a child living in the house where the predator had been staying.

A representative of the child, whose age was not disclosed, sought help on July 1.

Investigations confirmed his crime, and officers added 10 more charges to his record.

Édgar Acero Vázquez’s criminal history began in 2019.

«The California Supreme Court convicted him of having sexual relations with a person under 18,» details the Washoe County Sheriff in a statement.

His sentence required him to register as a level 3 sex offender in Nevada.

So far, there is only one new complaint against him, but the number of victims could be higher.

Édgar Acero Vázquez is now in prison, but the damage caused has left scars in the community that took him in without knowing his dark past.

His record includes six charges of lewdness, two of child pornography, and two of illegal sexual seduction of a minor.

Police believe the number of charges and victims may increase.
