Bad Bunny’s performance and speech at the GRAMMY Awards 2026 continue to spark strong reactions, especially after the Puerto Rican artist criticized U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while accepting the award for Album of the Year.
While many celebrated his remarks, they triggered outrage from Mexican actor and producer Eduardo Verástegui.
Through posts on X, the former telenovela heartthrob launched a series of comments questioning not only the reggaeton star’s words, but also his music.
The verbal clash quickly went viral and opened a new debate around art, morality, and social messaging—especially as Eduardo Verástegui criticizes Bad Bunny in unusually harsh terms.
“Those Were the Days…”: How the Criticism Began
Verástegui posted a message openly dismissing Bad Bunny’s Grammy win.
“El Conejito Malo won Album of the Year. Those were the days when that award went to Frank Sinatra, Adele, or Stevie Wonder,” he wrote, lamenting what he sees as the direction of the music industry.

He then questioned the artist’s style: “Today it’s enough to wear dresses, mumble unintelligible lyrics, glorify vulgarity, and sing with your mouth full of food for them to hand you the award.”
His words quickly ignited conversation across social media.
Questioning the Coherence of Bad Bunny’s Message
The actor also criticized what he described as a contradiction between Bad Bunny’s pro-migrant speech and the content of his songs.
“This character claims we are not animals, yet behaves like one,” Verástegui wrote.
“He says ICE is ‘savage,’ while his music promotes the most savage instincts: without order, without beauty, and without responsibility,” he added.
These statements intensified the backlash and further fueled the online dispute.
Call to ‘Turn Off the TV’ and Recover Values
Verástegui went even further, claiming the artist contributes nothing positive to society.
“This guy does nothing for society, and even less for children,” he stated.
He urged audiences to “turn off the TV, turn off the noise, and recover common sense, culture, morality, beauty, and dignity.”
The message sharply divided opinions between supporters of the actor and fans of the reggaeton star.

Eduardo Verástegui Clarifies His Position—but Maintains His Attack
After a wave of reactions, Eduardo Verástegui said he is not opposed to people’s personal musical tastes.
“There is music that, subjectively, you may like or dislike, and that’s fine,” he wrote in a follow-up message.
However, he emphasized that his criticism is directed specifically at Bad Bunny’s work, which he described as “noise.”
“That noise does not build, does not educate, and does nothing good for young people… His noise is toxic trash,” he concluded.
