According to the EFE news agency, Florida authorities arrested Cuban-American artist Gemeny Hernández, the romantic partner of Emily Estefan —daughter of Gloria and Emilio Estefan— for an alleged case of domestic violence.

The arrest took place on Tuesday in Miami, as confirmed by court documents accessed by EFE.

Hernández, 31, faces charges of violent robbery and minor assault following an altercation with her partner, with whom she has been in a relationship for about eight years.

According to the police report, the alleged victim —identified by media outlets as Emily Estefan— stated that Hernández snatched her phone out of her hand and struck her with it during an argument.

The report details that the couple lived together in the same residence and that the relationship was of a domestic nature.

After the incident, the victim was able to retrieve her phone and called 911 to report the assault.

Authorities confirmed that the young woman suffered minor injuries, including a bruise to her left eye and scratches on her neck.

The officers who responded to the call photographed the injuries and interviewed both parties involved in the Emily Estefan domestic violence case.

Hernández Released on Bail

In her statement, Hernández denied taking the phone directly but admitted to participating in the physical altercation.

The police report notes that the artist was taken to the Robbery Investigations Bureau, where her version of events was recorded before being detained.

Gemeny Hernández was booked at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, one of the main jails in Miami-Dade County.

Later, she posted a $3,000 bond to be released on provisional freedom while the judicial process continues.
