Esteban Loaiza finally talks about Jenni Rivera after leaving prison

Last August, after pleading guilty to a federal charge of drug possession and carrying 20 kilos of cocaine with him with the intention of distributing it, ex-baseball player Esteban Loaiza was released from prison. Now, he finally dares to talk about La Diva de la Banda.

In an exclusive interview for Despierta America, which is available on the successful Univision program’s Instagram,  Jenni Rivera’s ex also took some time to talk about his new life. Many were struck by his deteriorating physical appearance did not go unnoticed.

What did Esteban Loaiza say about Jenni Rivera?

It should be remembered that Jenni Rivera and former baseball player Esteban Loaiza got married in 2010, but just two years later, the singer filed for divorce. The reason? When asked how he was adapting to his new life, after leaving prison, Esteban Loaiza replied that he was doing very well and that he had to move on: “I’m healthy, I’m strong, I have a lot of support from many people, from my family, from my fans, from the people of Tijuana, from all over the Mexican Republic wherever I go.”

And regarding how he remembers his wife, Jenni Rivera — who would have turned 53 on Saturday, July 2 — he replied: «Many positive things, what happened is a shame, and many years have passed, may she rest in peace, and as I have always said, I always keep in my heart and mind that you never know what can happen to you…”

Jenni’s ex didn’t want to talk about his love life

It could be said that the former baseball player didn’t want to go into more detail about how he remembers Jenni Rivera, apart from kindly making it clear that he was not going to talk about his love life. Some of the hosts of the Despierta América segment Sin rollo, expressed their points of view, among them, Monse Medina.

Esteban Loaiza caused «chaos» in Jenni Rivera’s family

In an interview, Juan Rivera commented that when he and his family discovered that Esteban Loaiza’s finances were not entirely healthy, they «went mad». «He’s one of the Mexican pitchers who has earned the most money in history, what could have happened to that? I really don’t know.»

And regarding the rumors that the former baseball player had a relationship with Chiquis, Jenni Rivera’s eldest daughter, he said: “Maintaining a relationship with him I think would have made things worse, the best thing for me was to cut off any kind of relationship. Jenni was a little upset with me because of what had happened with my niece, because she didn’t want to believe her. So I don’t know if she no longer felt the same trust towards me, but we never touched on the subject,» he concluded.
