This combination of materials likely contributed to the intensity and persistence of the fire.
Fire crews responded quickly to the scene after the explosion.
However, the building’s structural conditions prevented immediate entry.
“Because of the collapse and twisted steel, we can’t get inside,” Chief Bernt explained.
Explosion in Nebraska Mobilizes Specialized Units

Given the severity of the incident, the Urban Search and Rescue Task Force One was called in.
This specialized unit is trained and equipped to operate in structural collapse scenarios.
Bernt added that crews expect to remain at the site for several days.
The rescue operation requires extreme caution due to the risk of additional collapses.
Authorities Monitor Situation and Provide Support
At this time, no other buildings in the area are reported to be at risk.
Mayor Spellerberg assured that the surrounding area does not present additional hazards.
Meanwhile, anxiety grows among the families and friends of the missing individuals.
Emergency teams have not confirmed the identities of the three people trapped inside.
