Fátima Bosch, the Mexican winner who earned the Miss Universe 2025 crown, broke her silence on Tuesday to denounce the wave of violent and hateful messages she has received since her triumph on November 21 in Thailand.
The beauty queen revealed on Instagram that in recent days she has been the target of insults and online aggression tied to accusations of alleged fraud circulating on social media.
Among the messages she shared, one stood out as particularly disturbing: “I hope you die tomorrow! You and your family! Fraud! What a shame! I hope you never find happiness and karma finds you soon! Die!” — evidence of the level of hostility she has faced.
Bosch questioned firmly: “What must be in a person’s heart to wish harm on someone they don’t even know?”, underscoring the emotional impact such expressions can have even on public figures.

Although she stated that her self-esteem and values remain strong, she acknowledged that these kinds of attacks can cause deep harm to any woman, especially in a context of media overexposure.
She also reminded the public that during the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, millions of women worldwide have experienced similar aggression “firsthand.”

Bosch explained that this violence stems from hatred, misinformation, and the inability of some people to accept that a woman can shine without others feeling threatened.
Sending a direct message to her detractors, she declared: “I will not retreat, I will not hide, and I will not ask permission to shine.”
Fátima Bosch Says She Will Continue Defending Women

The new Miss Universe thanked those who have supported her with words of love, saying: “To those who do believe in me, who embrace me with words of love and pride, THANK YOU. Your light sustains me.”
She also affirmed that she will continue using her voice to promote causes related to defending women and fighting gender-based violence.
“I will keep defending women, I will keep speaking for them, I will keep fighting for a world where no woman is attacked for who she is or for daring to shine,” she said with determination.
Her stance reaffirmed her commitment to social activism, something she had highlighted even before becoming Miss Univers.
Controversy Grows Over Alleged Irregularities

Bosch’s publication comes amid a tense environment following statements by Franco-Lebanese pianist Omar Harfouch, who resigned as a judge of the pageant alleging a lack of transparency. He also accused the Miss Universe Organization of holding a “secret vote” to select the 30 semifinalists without real participation from the jury.
He even announced his intention to sue the MUO for alleged crimes such as corruption, abuse of power, fraud, and breach of contract, calling Bosch “a fake Miss Universe.”
The president and co-owner of the pageant, Raúl Rocha, categorically denied these accusations and announced potential legal action against media outlets spreading what he considers defamatory information.
While the organization faces intense public scrutiny, Bosch continues to defend her victory and send a clear message: violence will not make her step back, according to EFE.
