Florinda Meza, remembered for her role as Doña Florinda in El Chavo del 8, faced a tense moment with the press after reporters asked her about comparisons with singer Ángela Aguilar.
The actress explained from the start that she had no knowledge of the situation involving Aguilar and Christian Nodal, and asked not to be linked to something that did not concern her.
“I don’t know her, I just found out about this through Adela. I would tell all women to be more feminist,” she said seriously in front of the cameras.
Meza emphasized that, many times, society places the blame on women, when in reality there should be more balanced perspectives.
“A Woman’s First Enemy Is Another Woman”

The widow of Roberto Gómez Bolaños lamented that criticism almost always falls on women. “We live in a man’s world where a woman’s first enemy is another woman. I don’t know why that is,” she said.
The actress added that she had been told Ángela Aguilar was allegedly involved with someone who already had a family, and she questioned why only Aguilar was being held accountable.

“They told me she took someone’s husband, well, what is he? A hair clip, a ring…? And what about him?” Meza said with frustration, inviting reflection on how men are often exempt from criticism.
Meza recalled that when she began her relationship with Gómez Bolaños, she too was judged, but defended the love they shared for many years.
“No One Should Meddle in Another Person’s Life”
With a firm tone, the actress stressed that she does not think it is fair to comment on other people’s private lives, especially when the real details are unknown.
“What I believe is that no one should meddle in another person’s life,” she insisted, clarifying that she has no interest in fueling controversy over others’ choices.
Her message focused on asking for more empathy among women and avoiding prejudices that end up harming the reputation of public figures.
The tension escalated when reporters continued pressing with comparisons to her own past, prompting her to respond more sharply.
Florinda Meza Criticized “Cheap Journalism”
During the press exchange, one reporter mentioned actress Rosita Bouchot, who once claimed that Florinda Meza had lived in the shadow of Roberto Gómez Bolaños.
Her reaction was immediate: “I wasn’t even aware of that. What you’re doing is cheap journalism,” Meza shot back, visibly irritated.
She added that it was unfair that, after so many years, people still judge her based on her private life.
“If I have the shadow of my husband, then I’m lucky, because he’s already dead. At least I would have his shadow, but I’m not even sure I have that; life ends,” she concluded firmly.
The actress left the scene after making her position clear, defending her career and reminding everyone that her life should not be measured by other people’s comparisons, according to El Diario NY.
