Former Federal Prosecutor Appointed by Biden Found Dead at Home
Former federal prosecutor who served under the Biden administration found dead in her home. Authorities continue to investigate.

Jessica Aber, former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, was found dead in her home in the city of Alexandria. The cause of death remains unknown.
Aber had resigned from her position this past January following the return of Donald Trump to the presidency, according to the EFE news agency.
Local media reported that after receiving a call, Alexandria police arrived at the 43-year-old former prosecutor’s residence.
They found her deceased shortly after 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, local time.

The results of the autopsy are pending to determine the exact cause of death.
Jessica Aber, 43, was appointed to the position by President Joe Biden in 2021.

According to EFE, upon resigning she stated that restoring trust in law enforcement had been a top priority during her time at the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
She also focused on cases involving terrorism, violent gang crimes, and the leaking of classified documents.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi called Jessica Aber’s death “deeply tragic” in an official statement.
“Our support and prayers are with her family and friends during this very difficult time,” she said.
Current U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Erik S. Siebert, praised Aber as “an unmatched leader, mentor, and prosecutor.”
He added that she was “simply irreplaceable as a human being,” according to EFE.
