On February 28, the Diocese of Santa Rosa published a statement on its website that was originally posted by former Catholic priest, Ivan Gonzalez, who is currently a Lutheran pastor in Wichita, Kansas.
He announced Adam Kotas is joining the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the United States.
It is also known as the Evangelical Church in America (ELCA).
His move to the ELCA involves adapting to different practices and beliefs.
Surprising news about Adam Kotas

On March 1, the Archdiocese of Las Vegas issued a statement announcing that the Diocese of Santa Rosa notified them of Mr. Adam Kotas’ involuntary laicization.
The Diocese of Santa Rosa managed this process. The announcement underscores Kotas’ change in religious status and highlights the cooperation between the two dioceses on this matter.
The inclusion of this information by the Archdiocese of Las Vegas suggests transparency in handling cases related to the clergy.

«They gave me money back then to shut me up because I needed money for my psychological therapy,» Adam Kotas said.
«They gave me money and made me sign a paper and threatened me,» the former priest added on social media.
Adam Kotas said that the Archdiocese of Las Vegas and the Catholic Church threatened to strip him of his priesthood. However, he argues that they cannot do so.
Adam Kotas insisted that «no one, not even the Pope himself, can take away my priesthood because the priesthood comes from God.»
He claims he was abused

Adam Kotas had previously reported that another priest had assaulted him. After going public with this accusation, he revealed that someone had threatened him.
These revelations have sparked intense debate about integrity and safety within the Catholic clergy.
«In 2021, the Archdiocese of Las Vegas made me sign a paper where I said I would not say anything about what happened,» Kotas said.

The former priest shared a video where he claims the Catholic Church wanted to kill him.
«In the past four months, the bishops of Las Vegas and the Catholic Church, they wanted to kill me,» Adam Kotas insisted.
This concerned his followers: «We have to protect him.» «He will now wield a lot of influence and the Catholic order will make him disappear,» they commented.
