The altercation escalated, forcing the landlord to intervene and notify the Miami-Dade Police.

Officers arrived at the residence — located at Northwest 35th Street and Third Avenue in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood — and arrested the suspect.

Suárez-González spent approximately 48 hours behind bars, according to jail records. During his hearing, the judge ordered him to stay away from the victim and released him on bond.

Hours later, Suárez-González returned to the shared residence, this time armed with an axe, and lunged at the person who had reported him, shouting in Spanish, «You are not calling the police again!»

Once again, witnesses called the Miami-Dade Police. While officers were en route, the victim had to run for his life.

Suárez-González continued his assault, chasing his roommate in a 2021 silver Toyota Rav4 and attempting to run him over.

Fortunately, Miami officers intercepted Suárez-González while he was driving on Northwest Fifth Avenue and 34th Street, according to Local 10.

Upon stopping him, officers saw the black axe in the footwell of the passenger seat along the mobile phone he had stolen from the roommate and arrested Suárez-González.

Case file F24008862 lists the charges against Suárez-González. They include: Aggravated stalking, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, strangulation assault, strong-arm robbery, attempted armed robbery and criminal damage.

As if that were not enough, he is also charged with tampering with a witness, victim or informant in a capital or life-threatening crime investigation, tampering with physical evidence, violation of a protective order and two counts of providing false identification.

Officers noted that Suárez-González used the axe to damage the front and back doors and break several windows and the housing’s security camera bracket.

Given the severity of the situation, Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Cristina Miranda scheduled a hearing for May 15.
