Authorities in Colorado are implementing a special plan for the capture of two men who were supposed to appear in court several weeks ago but failed to do so.

The Southern Colorado Safe Streets Task Force issued an alert to locate Giovanni Gutiérrez, 20, and Melitón Valdez, 28.

Authorities describe Gutiérrez as a Hispanic man, 5’5” tall, weighing approximately 125 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

He also has a tattoo on the left side of his forehead and a diagonal scar across his right eye.

«Gutierrez has a no-bond warrant for Failure to Appear which includes Assault and Felony Menacing with a Real/Simulated Weapon,» the Pueblo Police Department statement reads.

Valdez is described as a Hispanic man, 5’8” tall, weighing approximately 190 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes.

The press release continues: «Valdez has a no bond warrant for Failure to Comply which includes Possession of a Controlled Substance – Fentanyl, Possession of a Controlled Substance I, II, III, IV, V.

He also faces charges for, «Motor Vehicle Theft – Obtain Control and Driving Under the Influence.»

The report also states that he «has a second no bond warrant for Contempt of Court which includes Motor Vehicle Theft – Obtain Control and Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender.»

Police began searching for both men on March 8 after they failed to appear in court.

The situation alerted the officers in charge of their cases.

Given that they had no leads on where the men could be hiding, they decided to call on the community in the southern part of the state to keep an eye out for any sign of the fugitives in Colorado.

«If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of these individuals, you are encouraged to contact the Pueblo Police Department,» police outlined in their bulletin.

Anyone who provides information that leads to a felony arrest could receive a cash reward of at least $2,000.

Authorities emphasize the importance of community support. Timely information about the suspects could prevent further crimes and more victims.

Officers rely on this strategy to locate the suspects and thus keep the streets of Pueblo County safe and free of criminals for its residents and business owners.
