The victim was a prominent member of the Tlaxcaltecan musical group «Jorge Domínguez y su Grupo Súper Class.»

The tragic incident took place in the last minutes of December 13, during the patron saint’s day of the town of Guadalupe Sarabia, Tepeyahualco, in the north of the state of Puebla.

Even in this event, two more members of the group, the percussionist José H. and the dancer Carlos N., were injured, requiring immediate medical attention.

According to Giovanni Domínguez, son of the artist Jorge Domínguez, his father is physically unharmed, but morally affected by the tragic event.

At the moment it is known that among the people who died is a 25-year-old trumpeter named Gregorio O, who belonged to the band.

Given this terrible situation, preliminary information indicates that the band members were in the bathroom.

This, moments before going on stage, the explosion occurred abruptly, collapsing the walls around them.

This unfortunate incident has shocked the musical community and the followers of «Jorge Domínguez y su Grupo Súper Class.»

The group, recognized for its distinctive style and contribution to the regional Mexican musical genre, was in the middle of a performance at the local festival when tragedy struck.

Pyrotechnics cause explosion

It is worth mentioning that local authorities and rescue bodies quickly mobilized to the scene of the incident to provide assistance.

The percussionist José H. and the dancer Carlos N., injured in the explosion, were immediately transferred to medical centers to receive specialized care.

Their health is a cause for concern for family, friends and followers who hope for their speedy recovery.

According to the entity’s Secretary of the Interior, Javier Aquino, there are 25 more injured, who have already been transferred to nearby hospitals.

Super Class mourning

“Rescue efforts continue at the site, so the number could increase in the coming hours,” reads a post on Twitter.

It noted that elements of the General Coordination of Civil Protection, medical services and ambulances from Libres, Zaragoza, Perote and the Red Cross remain in place.

Authorities confirmed that three people died, including the member of the group Super Class, Gregorio Ordaz, according to Infobae.

In a statement on Facebook from Súper Class, the group reported that they have already contacted Gregorio Ordaz’s family to provide them with all the support.

Fans, colleagues and personalities from the artistic world express their regret and solidarity with the Domínguez family and their followers.
