Guillermo “Memo” Ochoa needs to find a club as soon as possible if he wants to keep his dream of playing in the 2026 World Cup alive. Several reports indicate that the Mexican goalkeeper has offered himself to Real Zaragoza, a team in Spain’s second division.
According to El Periódico de Aragón, the club is also considering signing Gabriel Slonina or Antonio Adán, which could complicate Ochoa’s chances.
Without a Fixed Team
The veteran keeper is currently training in Portugal with a second-division club but is not registered. He needs to log at least 1,000 minutes of play before the World Cup to be considered for the Mexican National Team.

International Career
Ochoa has played for América, Ajaccio, Málaga, Granada, Standard Liège, Salernitana, and Avs FS. With América, he made 424 appearances, conceded 525 goals, and kept 121 clean sheets—cementing his status as a club legend.
Memo Ochoa Is on the National Team’s Radar
Javier Aguirre has kept him in mind for the Mexican National Team, but Guillermo Ochoa’s immediate priority is signing with a club to stay in form for 2026.
