In a shocking turn of events, TV host Gustavo Malcapin was fired during a live broadcast.
It is believed that this decision was made after he criticized the husband of the governor of Baja California, María del Pilar Ávila.
The news was delivered by Luis Arnoldo Cabada, the general director of Canal 66 in Mexicali, during the program Ciudadano 2.0.

Gustavo Malcapin was in the middle of reporting when he was visited by Luis Arnoldo Cabada, the general director of Canal 66 in Mexicali.
No one could have predicted what would happen just seconds later.
«I came to thank you for these six years of hard work, the intense effort you’ve put in,» Luis Arnoldo told Gustavo Malcapin.
He went on to say that Malcapin had completed his cycle and had done an extraordinary job.
«Everything in life has a cycle, and your cycle has come to an end. Today is your last day,» Cabada added, much to the surprise of the lawyer-turned-host.
Like a true professional, Malcapin continued with his show Ciudadano 2.0 (WATCH THE VIDEO HERE).
Later, in his Instagram stories, Gustavo Malcapin announced that he would go live to share his side of the story.
He humorously referenced Niurka Marcos, stating that he would reveal «his truth» during the broadcast.
On his Facebook page, Malcapin posted a photo with the caption: «I’m not crying… I just got a ‘fired from Ciudadano 2.0‘ in my eye.»
Support from the public poured in once again: «Keep doing journalism, that’s what bothers those in power.»
