New Jersey is bracing for the start of the week marked by an intense heat wave, with temperatures potentially reaching 90 degrees Fahrenheit and feeling even higher.

Storm Watch meteorologist Skyler Harman has warned that the temperatures could feel like 100 degrees due to high humidity.

Authorities have issued a heat advisory effective from 10 a.m. Monday until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

This advisory urges residents to take extra precautions to protect themselves from the extreme heat.

According to reports, on Monday night, July 8, temperatures will remain on the warm side, with lows around 75 degrees.

Humidity will remain high, making conditions uncomfortable for sleeping, according to ‘New Jersey News 12’.

Some clouds will cover the sky, but significant rain is not expected during the night. Temperatures will rise to the low 90s.

It will be a mostly sunny and dry day, with the possibility of a passing shower in some areas.

However, not everyone will experience this rain, as it will be scattered and brief in New Jersey.

Lows for Monday night are expected to be in the mid-70s, according to ‘SF Weekly’.

As the day progresses, there will be a chance of scattered showers and storms, especially in the afternoon and evening.

These storms could bring temporary relief from the heat but will also increase the humidity in the air.

The forecast for the rest of the week indicates highs in the upper 80s and lows in the low 70s.

Some rain with the potential for storms is expected, which could provide a break from the intense heat.

Authorities have issued several recommendations to help residents stay safe during this heat wave.

People are advised to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and to seek refuge in cool, air-conditioned places.

It is crucial to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoiding alcoholic or caffeinated beverages.

Outdoor activities should be limited, especially during peak heat hours.

The heat wave affects not only individuals but also the community as a whole.

Local authorities are working to ensure that cooling centers are available for those without access to air conditioning.

Emergency services are on high alert to respond to any heat-related incidents, such as heatstroke or dehydration.

Extreme heat can have serious health consequences, especially for children, the elderly, and people with preexisting health conditions.

In severe cases, heat can cause heatstroke, a medical emergency that requires immediate attention, noted ‘New Jersey News 12‘.

Pets should also be protected from the heat by ensuring they have access to fresh water and shade at all times, according to ‘SF Weekly‘.
