SHE STOP TAKING HER MEDICATIONS

According to court records, Taylor Sánchez, the 28-year-old inmate at Taycheedah Correctional Institution, admitted to ceasing her medication intake.
This exacerbated her mental health issues.
This tragic outcome was triggered when Sánchez, affected by mental confusion and auditory hallucinations, believed that her cellmate, Cindy Schulz-Juedes, was using her toothbrush to clean the toilet.
This situation, stemming from her deteriorated psychological state, led to an impulsive and violent act by Sánchez.
SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS USING HER TOOTHBRUSH

Amidst confusion and mental turmoil, Sánchez committed the murder of Schulz-Juedes.
This incident underscores the critical importance of medical care and proper treatment for inmates suffering from mental disorders within the correctional system.
It highlights the need for a better understanding and approach to mental illnesses in the prison context.
In a moment of confusion, she believed Schulz-Juedes was using her toothbrush to clean the toilet, triggering the fatal outcome.
WHY WERE THEY IN JAIL?

Both had criminal backgrounds. Sánchez was serving a two-year sentence for assault in Kenosha County.
On the other hand, Schulz-Juedes was convicted in October 2021 for her involvement in the first-degree intentional homicide of her husband, Kenneth Juedes, aged 58.
Kenneth Juedes, a pharmacist, was shot dead on August 29, 2006, at his home in the city of Hull.
This led to his wife’s conviction for life imprisonment without the possibility of parole in June 2022.
