- HotSpanish and El Pirata de Culiacán.
- What was the relationship between the influencers?
- Was HotSpanish the real target?
Juan Luis Lagunas Rosales, known as El Pirata de Culiacán, was shot to death in a hail of bullets on December 18, 2017.
The young influencer was only 17 years old at the time and had gone viral on social media for his videos where he indulged in drugs and alcohol.
However, it seems that he crossed a line by involving himself with people he shouldn’t have, which ultimately cost him his life.
Nearly six years after his murder, questions have arisen about his relationship with another influencer, Roberto González, better known as HotSpanish.
Did HotSpanish have anything to do with the murder of El Pirata de Culiacán?

Just a few months ago, controversy arose between influencers Fofo Márquez and Roberto González that involved El Pirata de Culiacán.
It’s worth noting that these two young men used to be very good friends, but it seems that is a thing of the past.
After HotSpanish collaborated with model Karely Ruiz, Fofo publicly criticized both of them — but there’s more to the story.
Fofo claimed that his former friend was present on the day Juan Luis Lagunas Rosales was killed and even shared several videos as evidence.
Was HotSpanish the real target?

Fofo Márquez also suggested that the armed attack may have been aimed at HotSpanish rather than El Pirata de Culiacán.
He alleged that Roberto González manipulated the situation so that Juan Luis would be the one shot.
According to Milenio, this crime is attributed to El Doble R, the plaza boss of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
It is said to have occurred because El Pirata had insulted Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, better known as El Mencho.

Later, Fofo asked HotSpanish to admit that he set up El Pirata de Culiacán to save his own skin.
«I know many things, I know them all. If not, deny it, lie to me because you never leave your house. You only go to Plaza Patria.»
The influencer claimed that Roberto González was acting all panicky and that he knew many things: «You messed with fire, dude.»
Finally, he stated that people were starting to realize HotSpanish’s lies and invited him to keep on lying.
HotSpanish defends himself

It didn’t take long for the YouTuber, who has a large following on social media, to refute his former friend’s claims.
To the surprise of many, he confirmed that he was present on the day El Pirata de Culiacán was killed but insisted he had nothing to do with it.
«That day he [referring to El Pirata] was going to perform at an event, it’s like being invited to an event where you’ve already announced that you’re going to be the DJ,» HotSpanish explained.
He also revealed that blaming him made no sense, and he had only seen El Pirata twice in his life.

HotSpanish wanted to make it clear once again that his relationship with El Pirata de Culiacán was solely professional.
He stated that he made two videos with him and that it didn’t mean they were friends. «I was in the wrong place,» he said.
According to infobae, Roberto González revealed that when Juan Luis was murdered, he was frightened by the gunshots.
For that reason, he decided to run for safety: «We should leave things there,» he concluded.
