The actress, who participated in La Casa De Los Famosos on Telemundo, opened up in the interview and expressed the private battle she fought.

It all started a year and a half ago when she noticed what she thought was just a pimple on her back.

However, in early November, while looking at herself in the mirror, Thalí García discovered a black spot in the same area.
Worried, she consulted her sister, who works at a prestigious cancer hospital in New York.
How Thalí García Discovered the Illness
“I asked her to take a video and sent it to my doctor in Mexico, dermatologist oncologist Paola Castañeda. Both agreed that I needed to seek professional attention immediately,” she shared.
Due to the high costs of medical tests in the United States, Thalí decided to return to Mexico for further evaluation.
Once examined by Dr. Castañeda, it was confirmed that the lesion required urgent surgery.
On November 21, Thalí underwent a successful operation.
The Life-Changing Procedure
“The initial diagnosis pointed to melanoma, but fortunately, we detected it at an early stage.”
“The roots hadn’t crossed the dermis or affected the lymph nodes. I didn’t need radiation or chemotherapy,” Thalí García explained.
The surgery, done under local anesthesia, lasted about 40 minutes.
Afterwards, she was asked to avoid physical exertion for two weeks until the stitches were removed.
Life Lessons and Prevention
After this experience, Thalí reflected on the importance of taking care of the skin and paying attention to any changes.
«There are basic rules for detecting this type of cancer: check if the lesion is asymmetric, changes color or size. It’s crucial to inform yourself and take preventive measures,” she noted.
She also shared that now she must use sunscreen for life on areas like her back, face, and hands.
“If that spot had been deeper, the story would be different. I feel blessed because we caught it in time,” she added.
