«I experienced intense hunger. I hugged my mother and pleaded, ‘Can I have a piece of bread or something?’ My mother wept, and all she could say was, ‘Just go to sleep.'»

Univision reported that Guevara’s mother grappled with profound depression due to her inability to provide food for her children.

Wendy Guevara soared to prominence after a video featuring her alongside fellow trans influencer Paola Suárez went viral on social media.

In the footage, Guevara and Suárez can be heard urgently proclaiming their predicament of being lost in an abandoned lot in Mexico.

Since then, the two trans women have become recognized in Mexico and across parts of Latin America as ‘Las Perdidas’.

Guevara and Suárez share a deep bond of friendship and Paola even supported her friend during times of extreme poverty.

Paola Suárez and Wendy Guevara recently reminisced about the challenging circumstances they weathered before tasting fame.

Infobae reported that the influencers released a video documenting a visit to Suárez’s former residence in León.

In the video, Suárez and Guevara revealed how they often had to improvise makeshift kitchens in order to eat.

When it rained, they ingeniously used a blanket to shield themselves from the elements because the roof of their shelter was rotted away.

Guevara acknowledged that her financial circumstances began to improve when her work as a content creator gained traction.

«Life is full of transformations, and my hope is for everyone to experience positive change,» the Mexican influencer shared during one of the broadcasts.

Before winning the first season of La Casa de los Famosos México, Wendy Guevara talked about how she wasn’t rich.

«We aren’t wealthy. The truth is that people assume we are very affluent, but that’s not the case,» Wendy said with Paola Suárez in one of their livestreams.

«While things are looking up, and we have you to thank for being able to eat, we are far from rich,» the two influencers insisted.

Now, things are different since Wendy won $238,000 on La Casa de los Famosos México.

She was sexually abused as a child

Before winning global fame and wealth, Wendy Guevara endured sexual abuse.

This happened before she transitioned. Wendy was was raped when she was just 10 or 11 years old.

According to Homosensual, Guevara worked cleaning nightclubs at one time.

Today, Wendy Guevara is one of Mexico’s most prominent trans women, boasting an impressive following of 7 million followers on Instagram.
