After several days of trial, Hunter Biden, son of the US President Joe Biden, received his sentence.

This Tuesday morning, it was announced that the jury in the case against Hunter Biden, accused of illegal purchase and possession of a weapon, had reached a verdict.

After hours of deliberation, it was surprising to learn that the Delaware jury handling the trial found Joe Biden’s son guilty.

He was charged with three weapons-related offenses, for concealing the purchase during his drug addiction.

The sentence was reported by various media outlets including AP and EFE, and the charges are federal.

Each carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. Testifying at the trial were his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, as well as a former girlfriend, his former sister-in-law and lover Hallie Biden, and his daughter Naomi.

The jury concluded that Hunter Biden used illegal drugs when he purchased a weapon and lied on two statements regarding that possession.

Two charges could lead to a 10-year prison sentence and the third to an additional five years, plus a $750,000 fine for each.

It is noted that a situation that could benefit Hunter Biden is that he has no prior convictions, which might mean he receives no prison time.

«Hunter has not asked anyone to excuse or forgive him for his mistakes,» were the words of the president’s son’s defense attorney before deliberation.

President Biden was never present in court, but the First Lady, Jill Biden, did attend.

The charges against Hunter stem from an investigation opened in 2018 during the Trump administration. He now has another pending trial in California for tax evasion.
