According to People magazine, her family issued a statement through her publicist.

Somers had a long career as an actress and entrepreneur but she’s best known for Three’s Company and Step by Step.

Suzanne Somers died at the age of 76 at her home, according to People. On Monday, October 16, she would have turned 77 years old.

The statement issued by her family, and delivered by actress Suzanne Somers’ publicist, R. Couri Hay, contained more details.

«Suzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15th,» he began

«She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years,» he added, explaining her cause of death.

She had bravely fought the disease for over two decades.

The statement also indicates that Suzanne Somers was surrounded by her loved ones when she passed.

«Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family,» Couri Hay’s statement explained.

«Her family was gathered to celebrate her 77th birthday on October 16th,» he continued, pointing out the celebration that was to take place on Monday.

«Instead, they will celebrate her extraordinary life, and want to thank her millions of fans and followers who loved her dearly,» he concluded.

A funeral will be held for Suzanne Somers in November but there are no more details at this time.
