A bar in Idaho caused major uproar on social media after announcing it would give away a month of free beer to any customer who helps Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detain undocumented immigrants.
Old State Saloon, located in Eagle, a suburb of Boise, posted on Saturday that it would offer “free beer for one month” to anyone who “helps ICE identify and deport an illegal alien from Idaho.”
The bar added that the reward could extend for “several months” if the same person helps in the deportation of multiple undocumented immigrants.

The establishment asked those interested to send “a detailed email with any evidence, photos, videos, summary of facts, dates, and times,” specifying that the information must be sent to the bar’s address.

The post immediately drew the attention of the MAGA crowd, whose followers praised the initiative, while critical comments toward ICE were scarce among the early reactions.
The controversy comes amid a national context in which the Trump administration has deployed hundreds of ICE agents to Democrat-led cities with the goal of detaining undocumented immigrants.
The administration claims its deportation campaign is on track to break records this year, with more than 515,000 people deported since the president took office.
Tricia McLaughlin, Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, told Fox News last month that the administration was “on track to break historic records” because the president’s agenda “has reactivated an agency that over the last four years had been vilified and limited from doing its job.”
Including those who, according to the administration, self-deported this year, the government asserts that more than 2 million undocumented immigrants have left the country.

Meanwhile, conservative social media users flocked to the bar’s controversial post, with some offering to help pay for the free beer or publicly supporting the owner.
While part of the public seemed to approve, others expressed shock and outrage.
Among the critical comments, one person wrote: “With that, you would have ratted out Anne Frank.”
Another said: “That’s a cheap price for selling your soul.”
Someone else posted: “Time to cancel this place,” to which the bar replied: “Good luck.”
Old State Saloon escalated the controversy by sharing screenshots of one-star reviews that began flooding its Google Business profile, accompanied by the caption:
“And the 1-star reviews keep coming from LEFT losers.”
Even so, the bar kept its offer and launched a new variation aimed at undocumented immigrants.

The establishment announced: “Any illegal who wants to self-deport can get a free beer before ICE comes to pick you up at Old State Saloon.”
The Department of Homeland Security appeared to support the bar’s original post by sharing it along with a GIF.
The bar replied: “Let’s go! Deport them all!”
This is not the first time Old State Saloon has stirred controversy with its promotions.
In 2024, owner Mark Fitzpatrick organized a “Wonderful Heterosexuality Month” and offered discounts and free beer to heterosexual men and women, coinciding with Pride Month in June.
The Idaho bar ICE controversy continues to grow as reactions intensify across the political spectrum.
