Jencarlos Canela Mónica Spear: Emotional Shared Memory

Mónica Spear was an actress, model, philanthropist, and beauty queen who won the Miss Venezuela pageant in 2004.

She appeared in several popular telenovelas, including Mi Prima Ciela, Calle Luna, Calle Sol, La Mujer Perfecta, and Flor Salvaje.

In 2014, she starred in Pasión Prohibida, her final telenovela, where she played Bianca Santillana.

Recently, on the 10th anniversary of Mónica Spear’s murder, her friend and co-star in Pasión Prohibida, Jencarlos Canela, broke his silence.

Jencarlos Canela Assured They “Had a Very Special Relationship”

Before delving into Jencarlos Canela’s statements about Mónica Spear, it’s important to remember the following:

The actress, along with her husband and daughter, traveled to Venezuela at the end of 2013 to enjoy a vacation—a reconciliation trip.

On January 6, 2014, their car broke down. While a tow truck was assisting, armed assailants arrived and opened fire.

Mónica was shot in the buttocks, leg, and right arm. She died at the age of 29.

In an interview with Rodner Figueroa, Jencarlos Canela revealed that he had a very special relationship with Mónica Spear.

“We spent a lot of time together; we talked a lot. She was an incredible person,” he said.

The actor shared with Rodner that even after filming Pasión Prohibida ended, he and Mónica stayed in touch.

He admitted that he still struggles to watch scenes from the telenovela: “Mónica was such a powerful force and was destined to do incredible things…”

In another part of the interview, Jencarlos Canela confessed that he hasn’t been in contact with Mónica Spear’s family for a long time.

“Mónica touched the hearts of people around the world with her art,” he added.

As the interview concluded, Jencarlos mentioned that Mónica’s daughter spent time with his children on several occasions.
